Sheetwright 5e Character Sheet
Sheetwright is a character sheet app for fifth-edition tabletop games. You don't need an account to use it, and we don't run servers that store your characters.
What stays on your device
Your characters, play sessions, notes, homebrew, dice history and settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. We never receive them as data. Uninstalling the app deletes them, so use Settings → Export backup to keep a copy. Screen recordings from Microsoft Clarity (below) can show what is on screen, such as a character's name and numbers; what you type into notes, the builder's details and homebrew is hidden.
The app also keeps a few backup files on your device: one a day, and one before a restore replaces your characters. If Android's backup is turned on for your phone, Android copies those files (not the rest of the app's data) to your Google account's device backup, so a new phone can restore them. Only you can restore them; we never receive them.
When you export a backup or a PDF sheet, the file goes wherever you choose to share it through your device's share sheet. When you import a backup, the app reads only the file you pick.
The settings file
At launch the app downloads a small settings file from our server that can tell it about an update. The app sends nothing but the request itself; like any web request, it shows the server your IP address and the app's standard request details. We don't use them to identify you.
What third-party services collect
The app uses these services from Google and Microsoft. Each collects data under its own privacy policy.
| Service | Why | What it collects |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Android, free version only) | Banner ads | Advertising ID, device and app information, IP address (used to estimate location), ad interactions |
| Google's User Messaging Platform | Asks for consent to ads in the EEA and UK | Your consent choices |
| Google Play Billing | The one-time Premium purchase | Purchase details, handled by Google Play |
| Microsoft Clarity | Understanding how the app is used, to improve it | Screen recordings of how you move through the app (screens, taps, scrolls and what is on screen), with the text you write yourself hidden: notes, the name, personality and backstory fields in the builder, and homebrew. Also device and app information, IP address and a random ID for your device |
Analytics events never contain your character data: they record which screen or step was used, a class name, a level, or a rest type. In the EEA and UK, the Android app lets Clarity record only if you agreed to the consent form shown for ads.
The iOS app shows no ads.
You can change your ad consent at any time in Settings → Privacy choices (shown where consent applies). You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
Children
Sheetwright is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not part of Google Play's Families program.
Changes
We'll update this page if the app starts collecting anything new, and change the date above.
